Busy Bees is a Mums and Toddlers Group for all those (Mums and Dads, Grandmas and Grandads) who have, or care for, babies and pre-school children. The group meets at the Church each Tuesday morning from 10.00am to 11.30am during term-time.

This is a great opportunity for the adults to chat with other parents and for the children to interact with each other with a break out for Bible story times every other week. Coffee is served from the hatch and the children have an organised drinks and prayer time. Busy Bees has a very friendly atmosphere and can be a time of encouragement and support for young busy parents.

Our crèche facility operates during the Sunday Morning service so that parents can leave their babies and toddlers in the care of experienced staff. The crèche is designed to care for children up to the age of 3-years old. Toys and books are provided in the crèche room. Included in the program is a story-time, followed by a very simple activity. Sometimes the children will sing, and there is always a small snack and a drink provided. If you are a visitor, you are very welcome to use this facility.

At around the age of 4-years (depending on circumstances) the children are encouraged to join the Little Soldiers group.

Little Soldiers is our “young” Sunday School for children aged from 3½ to 6-years that meets on Sunday mornings. The group gathers before the service, from 10.15am onwards, then join with the main Sunday School to come into Church for the first 15 minutes. The Little Soldiers programme consists of Bible Stories, singing, and play activities. Visiting children are always welcome.

The Explore Group is for children in Reception to Year 4 and meets on a Friday evening between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. This is an active and high energy group of youngsters that need constantly to be kept occupied. The programmes of crafts, games and Bible stories are organised each week and offer a structured and unique evening of fun and learning for the children.

All the activities are managed carefully with a dedicated leadership team to ensure safety and consideration for others at all times. The Explore programme runs during the school term.

The Excite Group is for children in Year 5 to Year 8 and meets on a Friday evening between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. The vision and aim of the leaders is to ensure that Jesus is clearly explained to the youngsters.

The evenings are always full of fun, hectic and often chaotic! The programme of activities is always varied – sometimes action-packed ideas such as dodge ball, snatch the bacon (occasionally at the Sports Hall in Rougham) – and sometimes quieter activities such as cooking cakes, pizzas, or bread in the Church kitchen. The Excite programme runs during the school term.

The Lounge @BRBC is for young people in Year 9 upwards and meets on a Friday evening from 8.00pm onwards in the chapel lounge. This is an open youth club, and a regular meeting place for friends, both from the village and from school and college.

The programme of activities is varied; the Summer means light evenings and so most of the activities are held outside with games on the grass at the rear of the church building, or events offsite. Examples of favourites would be camp fire cooking and car treasure hunts! The winter months mainly centre on the lounge with favourite activities being quiz, food evenings and movie nights.

FEAST (Friends, Eats And Study Time). This group meets once a month on a Saturday evening to provide an opportunity for teenagers to be together outside of the usual church surroundings. It is also for those who may like to find out more about the Christian faith; held in an informal environment of a home, they enjoy prayer times, study, discussion, and of course food!

This group for young adults meets at Makins Farmhouse on the third Saturday of each month at 8.00pm. We will focus on the practical application of Biblical lessons to our lives as we work for real-world relevance as followers of Christ. The group is currently looking at Spiritual Discipline in our character, work, relationships and ministry. All young adults (over-18) are welcome to attend.

Our Sunday morning teenage Bible Study group meets during the morning service from about 10.45am. The programme is interactive with discussion and study. If you are a teenager, you are very welcome to join.

Sunday School caters for children aged between 7 and 12 years. They meet from 10.15am each Sunday morning for informal chat and activities. At 10.30am they join the main service in the Church and return to the Church Hall just after 10.45am. The programme then consists of singing, quizzes, prayer and mission – after which the children are split into classes, according to age, for Bible teaching.

Fellowship Lunches take place at 1.00pm on the fourth Thursday of the month between October and April. There is an after-dinner speaker who is invited to present the Christian message. The lunches are regularly attended by up to 50, both ladies and men – mainly in the over 60s age group. Friends are often made over the meal and people return regularly. The food is always of a high quality and it’s not unusual for the men to ask for more! If you have not been before and would like to attend, speak to either Barbara Drury or Mary Balmer.

Our Morning Service begins at 10.30am and finishes at around 11.45pm, and our Evening Service begins at 6.30pm and finishes at around 7.30pm. Our pastor usually speaks at these services – but on occasions we have visiting speakers from other churches. Our services are a blend of traditional and contemporary, and as a growing church, our aim is to cater for all ages. We are Christ centred and love the Bible and all its teachings. You can find directions here

Children and young people meet with the whole church for the first 15 minutes of the service, before moving to their own groups for the rest of the morning.

Visitors and friends are warmly welcomed, with refreshments served afterwards.

The Sunday morning children’s work is split into 3 age groups (Little Soldiers, Sunday School, or Teen Searchers) and operates throughout the year including the school holidays. The program includes singing, quizzes and challenges, and other fun activities all designed to share and teach the truths about Jesus. A team of teachers support the programme, all of whom hold current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.

A crèche is available during all Sunday morning services.

The Ladies Bible Study is held in the Church Lounge each Friday from 9.30am to 11.30am. The meeting is open to all ladies who want to join together to study the Bible in an informal setting. Starting with coffee, the meeting then moves on to the study and ends with a time of sharing and prayer. There is space set aside for a crèche area where small children can play while the Bible study is taking place.

These are small informal home group meetings, held every other Tuesday at 7.30pm. They include a time of Bible study and discussion, which is then followed by prayer time – all in the relaxed atmosphere of various homes within the membership of BRBC in Bury, Rougham, and Woolpit/Elmswell.

Community Groups are open to all those who wish to attend and is a valued time to share, encourage and get to know others better over a cup of coffee.

This meeting is key to the Church activities because at BRBC we believe in the power of prayer. At Prayer Meetings we engaged in the privilege of communicating with God together – praying for each other & for the world we live in.

This meeting is held at the Church on every other Tuesday at 7.30pm alternating with Community Group meetings.
